Drake is 8!

Drake turned 8 on Dec. 31, 2009. We had our annual Happy Birthday Drake/Happy New Year's party at our house. Unfortunately, we didn't have the great turnout we are used to. We had a great time, though. Drake requested a chocolate ice cream cake. He opened presents and we ate cake and then the kids played wii and ran crazy through the house while the adults played games. It was an enjoyable evening.

Drake and I have a running joke every year. I always tell him he isn't allowed to get older and he explains that he can't help it. For some reason, I meet Zoa's new phases of life with excitement while I feel sad about letting the little boy that Drake once was go. He has turned out to be such a smart and interesting child. I love having a conversation with him because he always surprises me. We are grateful that he is part of our family. He will be baptized on Saturday, January 16. We are looking forward to watching him take that important step.

  1. Best wishes on your baptism Drake. There is a young father, in our ward. He reminds me ,of what I project, Drake will look like, in another 20 years.

  2. Happy birthday Drake! I miss talking to you pizza head!

  3. Happy Birthday Drake! We're sorry we missed the party. Maybe next year. We were skiing in Canada a little before the New Year and didn't get back until a few days ago so I was still putting away the last of Christmas on January 10th. I thought of the Daltons and remembered that you would have put Christmas away WEEKS ago. Emma and Kaisa say hi to their long, lost friends. We miss you guys!
